Best Fall Date Ideas

A lot of people say that love is in the air during springtime but I beg to differ. Spring is great but I think the most romantic season of all is fall. There's just something about the scenery and the chilly air that feels so magical that it makes you want to “fall” in love.

Sunny and I always look forward to the autumn season. We get to wear our flannel outfits and just enjoy what the season brings - chillier nights, multi-colored leaves, and unlimited pumpkins. Experiencing autumn together as a couple is indeed very special.

Since the season is already here, it's best to be ready with fall date ideas you and your significant other can do anytime. These are the activities Sunny and I enjoy and recommend:

Apple Picking in an Orchard

Apple picking is an old-fashioned but still fun and sweet activity for couples. Also, there are so many things to see, taste, and buy at orchards, that you still have plenty of things to experience after picking a bushel of apples. We’ve also been to some apple picking places that offer wine, if you and your partner enjoy that kind of thing!

Pumpkin Patch Picking + Pumpkin Carving

Fall wouldn’t be complete without picking and carving pumpkins! It's basically tradition so you might as well enjoy it together. You can even have a jack-o-lantern contest to see who has the best carving skills and most creative design.

Go on a Fall Hike

The best way to enjoy the rainbow-colored leaves during fall is by taking a walk or going on a hike. The weather is perfect! You can work up a sweat if you're planning to do it as a form of exercise or you can just take an easy stroll to enjoy the scenery.

Go to a Fair and Get Lost in a Corn Maze

Fairs and harvest festivals are plentiful during autumn. You're sure to find one locally. And, where there's a fair or festival, there's also a corn maze nearby. Other than pumpkins, what's more fall than a corn maze?

Get Spooked in a Haunted House

Are you a big fan of haunted houses? If yes is the answer, then fall's your season! It's not the usual date idea, but you'll have plenty of laughs or maybe even screams while going through a haunted house. One thing's for sure, you will make lasting memories and have a great excuse to hold each other tight!

Bake a Seasonal Pie

If your van is equipped with an oven, you can always make a pie together. The bushel of apples you picked at a local orchard will come in handy. Pies are surprisingly easy to make but if you don't want to clean up after yourself, you can head to any local homegrown shop or cafe to enjoy some with your partner!

Enjoy a Fall Cocktail

There are so many cocktail recipes you can try. Some fall classic cocktails are made from apple cider vinegar, apples, pumpkin, coffee, cinnamon, and other fall goodies. After you've had a couple, you can cap off the night by slow dancing to romantic music or (one of our favorites) playing the questions game with question cards!

Cozy up for a Movie Night

If you don't really want to go out, the best date idea would be to stay in, cozy yourselves up under a warm blanket, and watch a good movie. With popcorn in hand, and each other's company, it'll be a fun but relaxing night. Even better is setting up an outdoor movie night before it gets too cold out for the rest of the year!

Whether you and your partner are a new couple or have been together for more than 30 years, you'll enjoy each other's company as well as the most romantic season of all. Just make sure that you choose a fall date idea that you and your loved one both enjoy.
