Best Restaurant in Baja, Mexico

Our trip to Baja, Mexico wouldn't have been complete without a visit to Flora Farms - a large property that has several cottages, an event space, and an amazing restaurant, all situated in a multi-acre lot with a functioning and thriving farm. Because of its uniquely curated collection of experiences, I can say that our visit was one for the books. Undoubtedly, it's a highly recommended destination when travelling through Baja.

Location/Getting There

Flora Farms is a little north east of Cabo San Lucas. It's at the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountain Range at the southern end of the California Peninsula in Mexico. Getting there by van was easy enough. You can either drive yourself or take an uber or Taxi from wherever you’re staying.

What Can You See at Flora Farms

As mentioned, the entire property has been uniquely curated to deliver a full experience. Don’t be afraid to arrive hours before your reservation as there's plenty to do and keep you busy. Here's what you’ll see when you visit:

Flora’s Field Kitchen

Flora's Field Kitchen serves fresh, hand-made food, with all organic and non-GMO ingredients gathered directly from the farm itself. Their goal is to make healthy family meals, and trust me, they're doing a really good job at it! There's a bar, a wood fire, brick oven pizzeria, and, my personal favorite, Flora's Ice Cream Cart.

Shops at Flora Farms

Different shops can be found within the property, namely:

  • El Wine Bar & Café

  • James Perse

  • Santo Cabo

  • Selfe Edge

  • Eduardo Sanchez Jewelry

  • Eclectic Array

  • Anne Sidora

  • Etnia

The Farm Spa & Salon

Yes I said it, a spa! The Farm Spa & Salon is one of my favorites. If you need a break from van life to dedicate some time to self care, you can book massage, facial, hair and other pampering services that best fit your needs.

Others:

  • Flora Farms Grocery (with a wonderful assortment of goodies to take home with you)

  • Culinary Cottages

  • The Haylofts (hand-built, straw bale luxury homes for the culinary-inclined)

Year-Round Experiences

Another fantastic thing about Flora Farms is they have a slew of experiences that you can try all-year-round. Some of the experiences include movie nights, painting workshops, cooking classes, a native plant identification walk, sunset yoga, and a whole lot more. No matter which time of the year you visit, you're sure to have a special experience.

Do This Before Visiting

Because of its increasing popularity, it's always a good idea to book a reservation when visiting the farm for a tour of the grounds before your meal. Visitors are allowed to walk in and roam the grounds freely but it's better to call ahead of time and get a proper tour of the farm. You’ll be able to see how all the ingredients are grown and get the inside scoop on the founders.

Being able to see where exactly your food is coming from is a unique and special experience. Flora Farms felt like heaven on Earth and has inspired us to create a more sustainable lifestyle. Since living van life, this is our #1 top rated best restaurant we’ve come across. It’s so much more than an incredible meal. The entire experience is an absolute must!
