Van Life Holiday Gift Guide

As more and more people discover the joys of living van life, it’s the perfect time to come up with a list of gifts that might be perfect for a wanderer who's part of the vanlife community.

For those who live life on the road, the usual perfume, neckties, and other traditional gifts will be appreciated but they're not going to be very useful for a wandering soul. So, if you have a loved one who has already shifted their lifestyle to tiny living or is planning to, this gift guide will help you know just what to get them this holiday season.

Collapsable Water Heater

Our Gourmia collapsible kettle is something that we use every morning in the van. It’s perfect for on-the-go living as it boils water instantly for a quick morning tea or coffee before hitting the road. It's easy to use and super compact, making it ideal to store in a tiny kitchen. The temperature can be adjusted with the buttons on the bottom of the kettle. It also has a self-clean mode!

Hanging Fruit Bag

Having an array of fruit is important for one’s health but it’s also really bulky and we only have a small mini-fridge and limited pantry storage. Which is why we’ve decided to get a ‘hanging fruit bag’! We store all of our fruit here. It's an incredible space saver, hangs over our kitchen counter and doesn’t take up any of our precious fridge or pantry space. This is a van life staple.

Mini Broom

I use our mini-broom at least once a day. I absolutely love the size of this broom because it's easy to store away since a mini vacuum is still too bulky to store in the van. Trust me, this gift will become a daily staple for those living van life.

Heated Blanket

Life on the road during the winter season can be brutal. But it doesn’t have to be with a cozy heated blanket! It’s truly one of our favorite van life hacks to stay warm when it’s below freezing outside. It’s honestly a MUST HAVE for us during the colder months and has even kept us warm when our heater broke.

Massage Gun

Who knew that life on the road can be so grueling physically? Every long drive is hard on our shoulders, hips and lower back. While we make it a point to exercise and stretch, we brought a small luxury with us in the form of a massager gun and it’s been wildly beneficial to our lives! We highly recommend adding this massage gun to your weekly self care practice.

Magnetic Phone Holder

This magnetic holder is a must! We put it near the steering wheel in case we need to double-check the route we're taking. It doesn't distract our driving and is a quick and convenient way to get your hands free and ready to drive.

National Geographic Road Atlas

It's surprising how often we whip out our National Geographic Road Atlas. Planning our routes on our phones is ok but the atlas allows us to have a bigger picture of the overall terrain and we always enjoy busting it out when pre-planning the months ahead. Plus it’s a great backup map in case of emergencies.

Essential Oil Odor Spray

Any lavender-based essential oil spray is something we highly recommend having on hand when living in a van. The one we use and love is called: Magic Stinky Feet Spray. It completely eliminates any foul smell from our shoes and we even use it on our body to freshen up when a shower isn’t an imminent option.

Brita Water Filter Bottle

We LOVE our Brita water filter bottles. Sunny and I each have one that live in the front of the cab with us. We simply fill it up with water from our kitchen sink and love the extra source of filtration the reusable water bottle provides. It’s perfect for staying hydrated while driving.

We've used all of the items on this list during our van life journey, so you can be sure that your loved one will love and find great use in them too! Sunny and I are sending you lots of love this holidays season!
